SLCPD Investigating Shooting along Folsom Avenue, 1 Person InjuredSALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured a 34-year-old man. This investigation started at 4:41 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023, when SLC911 received calls about a shooting that just occurred near 900 West Folsom Avenue. Salt Lake City police officers arrived and found a man with at least one gunshot wound along the Folsom Trail. Officers started emergency life-saving efforts. Salt Lake City Fire and Gold Cross Ambulance arrived on scene and continued medical care. Paramedics took the injured man to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers immediately searched the area for the shooter. Witnesses told officers the suspect left on a bike. What led up to the shooting remains under investigation. However, officers have learned the suspect and victim had an argument prior to the shooting. Based on the information known right now, there is no threat to the community. No arrests have been made and a detailed suspect description is not available. Anyone with information about this shooting or any other criminal activity in Salt Lake City can call 801-799-3000 or submit an anonymous tip using the City Protect App. A SLCPD Public Information Officer (PIO) responded to the scene.
