SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department is investigating an early morning shooting that injured two men.

“I want to thank the officers and detectives who are working this case,” said Chief Mike Brown. “Many of them stayed well past the end of their already busy shifts to secure the scene, track down witnesses, and to further this investigation. Their commitment to our community, no matter the time, is a core value of ours, and I appreciate their efforts and dedication.”

This investigation started shortly after 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2024, when SLC911 received information about a person injured at a home near 1050 West 300 South. Patrol officers, officers with the Pioneer Patrol Division Bike Squad, and detectives with the SLCPD Gang Unit responded.

Paramedics took the first person injured to the hospital. His injuries are considered non-life threatening.

During the investigation, officers and detectives learned someone dropped off a second person injured at a local hospital. The injuries to the second person are considered non-life threatening.

Detectives are still trying to determine the role of both men.

Both men are in their 20s. No additional information about them can be released.

The Salt Lake City Police Department’s SWAT Team responded so detectives could safely fulfill a search warrant.

While carrying-out the court-authorized search warrant, detectives found multiple guns inside the home. Officers and detectives have booked those firearms into evidence.
