SLCPD Arrest 30-Year-Old Man Accused of Burglarizing Sugar House Business

SALT LAKE CITY — Officers with the Salt Lake City Police Department have arrested a 30-year-old man accused of breaking into a Sugar House business.

Officers booked 30-year-old Brandon Redenbaugh into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on charges of burglary, possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, possession of burglary tools, and a board of pardons warrant.

This investigation started at 6:19 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2024, when SLC911 received reports of a man breaking into the business located at 1202 East Wilmington Avenue.

Officers responded and learned a man, later identified as Redenbaugh, broke into the business, stole a cash register, and took off.

After getting a description of Redenbaugh, officers started searching the area.

With the help of a certified department drone operator, officers found Redenbaugh in Hidden Hollow Park and safely took him into custody.

Officers recovered the cash register and cash.

Officers also seized many tools used to commit burglaries and a stun gun flashlight.

Charges are only allegations, and every arrested person is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

The Salt Lake City Police Department is not the custodian of record for jail booking photos. Utah Code 17-22-30 mostly prohibits the release of jail booking photos. Generally, a jail booking photo can only be released by the custodian of record after a conviction or when law enforcement determines the person is a fugitive or an imminent threat to a person or public safety. In Salt Lake City, the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office is the custodian of record for jail booking photos.
