SLCPD Officers Arrest Two Juveniles Following Robbery Spree

SALT LAKE CITY — Officers with the Salt Lake City Police recently arrested a 16-year-old and 14-year-old accused of robbing multiple convenience stores.

This investigation began at approximately 12:53 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024, when officers assigned to the Liberty Patrol Division took a report of a convenience store armed robbery near 500 East and 2100 South.

On Sunday September 22, 2024, officers, located the two suspects near 1400 South Utahna Drive and safely took them into custody as part of the investigation.

Over the course of several weeks, detectives worked with the district attorney’s office, which, on behalf of the state, filed six counts of robbery against the 16-year-old and eight counts of robbery against the 14-year-old.

Detectives with the SLCPD’s Violent Crimes and Robbery Unit took over the investigation and booked both males into the Salt Lake Valley Detention Center.

Because the suspects are juveniles, no other information is being released about the suspects.

No further information is available for release.
