SLCPD subscribes to and is in partnership with the Open Data Initiative and the Data Driven Justice Committees, two programs initiated by the White House and supported by the President of the United States.

Since these programs launched, SLCPD has worked to provide clear, easy-to-understand information to the community, research centers, NGOs, industry partners, and the federal government. In conjunction with our records unit and CompStat program, crime statistics, use-of-force trends, calls for service data, and weekly CompStat reports are available to search at any time. SLCPD is committed to an open and transparent business model and believes in intelligence-led policing. We are in an unprecedented time when we have the ability to use real-time data to help determine how we tailor policing to best fit the unique community to which we belong.
