Thanks to tip from public

December 7, 2012 — The Salt Lake City Police Department wishes to thank the public for its assistance in identifying a suspect featured in surveillance video released earlier this week.

Due to a tip from the public, detectives today arrested Sean Olsen (11/22/70) on one charge of burglary and one charge of theft — a third-degree felony and a Class B misdemeanor, respectively.

Earlier this week SLCPD released surveillance video from the burglary of a business in Sugar House, an area where multiple businesses have reported break-ins since early October. A member of the public recognized the suspect and contacted the Police Department, leading to today’s arrest.

Detectives continue to investigate Olsen’s ties to other business burglaries in the area. Anyone with information about these cases is asked to call (801) 799-3000. Anonymous tips may be sent by texting TIPSLCPD plus information to CRIMES (274637).
