William Patrick Estell, DOB 12/13/72

William Estell

March 25, 2013 — The Salt Lake City Police Department seeks the public’s help to identify potential victims of a sex offender who has been charged in multiple cases and is suspected of victimizing others.

In November 2012, William Patrick Estell (DOB: 12/13/72) spoke with Detectives of the Salt Lake City Police Department’s Special Victims Unit (SVU) about numerous child victims he had sexually molested over the last 20 years. The SVU Detectives arrested Estell—who remains in custody on nearly $1 million bail at the Salt Lake County Jail—and charged him in four cases to date.

Since the beginning of the investigation, SVU Detectives have identified and interviewed additional victims. They are aware that there are other children and individuals who have been victimized by Estell; however, due to limited information he provided, they have been unable to locate them.

The Police Department asks victims to come forward and contact the SVU Detectives at (801) 799-3720. Victims or those with knowledge of victims may also use the Department’s anonymous tip service by texting TIPSLCPD plus information to CRIMES (274637).

Contact: Reporters seeking comment should contact the Public Information Officer at 801.799.NEWS (6397).
