SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department’s Evidence Unit has items which have been taken into custody that will be donated, destroyed or otherwise eliminated effective June 23, 2014. These items include the following:

Backpacks, luggage, bags, purses, wallets, bags, clothing, bedding, sleeping bags, credentials (Social Security cards, identification cards, driver licenses, credit and debit cards, passports, etc.), guns, knives, money, jewelry, cell phones with accessories, eye-/sunglasses, computers with accessories, keys, hand and power tools, bikes, skateboard, scooter, miscellaneous papers (birth certificates, photos, letters, etc.) cameras with accessories, license plates, e-cigarette, binoculars, insulin test strips, CD and DVD players, CDs/DVD’, flash lens, frame, tele-converter, golf bag, video camera, mug, snowboards with snowboarding gear, boots, tripod, boxes, dream catchers, glass chess set, sword, cane, canopy, bow, inflatable bed, vases, motocross boots, helmet, tent, clock, goggles, Bluetooth sets, microphone, scope, day planner, camping gear, silver bowl, battery charger, umbrella, glass coasters, porcelain containers, magnifying glass, manhole cover, coin collections, medallion, handcuffs, cosmetics.

If applicable, reasonable attempts have been made to contact the owners by U.S. Mail.

This is not an open call for the review of lost and found items by the general public. Rather, the department invites individuals with reason to believe any of the above items are theirs to contact the Evidence Unit at (801) 799-3041.
