SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department is preparing to handle traffic congestion and parking issues downtown with more than 100,000 people expected to attend General Conference services of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints this Saturday and Sunday, April 4–5, 2015. The Police Department offers the following tips if you’re in the area this weekend:

  • Park in designated areas. Cars improperly parked on neighborhood streets may be ticketed or towed at the owner’s expense.
  • Consider taking public transportation to avoid traffic and parking issues.
  • North Temple between Main Street and West Temple will be closed for 30 minutes in order to facilitate the safe and timely exit of the approximately 25,000 people attending each religious service.
  • Motorists: please slow down and keep an eye out for pedestrians and cyclists.
