SLCPD Investigating Suspicious Death

SALT LAKE CITY — Detectives with the Salt Lake City Police Department’s Homicide Unit are investigating a suspicious death at the Quality Inn, located at 616 South 200 West.

This investigation started at 5:57 a.m. on February 11, 2022 when Salt Lake City Police received information as part of a welfare check investigation. Shortly after arriving, officers located a deceased person in one of the hotel rooms.

SLCPD officers have detained one person as part of the investigation.

Detectives remain on scene and are investigating the circumstances of the death.

Based on the information known to detectives, there is no threat to the community.

Evidence technicians with the SLCPD’s Crime Lab responded to assist with the investigation.

A SLCPD PIO responded to the scene and provided media with updates.
