SLCPD Identifies Two People Wanted Following Deadly Stabbing

SALT LAKE CITY — This morning, the Salt Lake City Police Department is requesting help from our communities locating two men wanted following a deadly stabbing at the Palmer Court apartments.

The suspects are identified as 43-year-old Taddy Avalon Jackman and 26-year-old Ivy Chase Grant.

Community members should not approach either man, if located.

Please call 9-1-1 immediately, if located. People with general information about either Jackman or Grant should call 801-799-3000.

This investigation started at 3:43 p.m. on Thursday February 2, 2023, when SLC911 received information about a stabbing at the Palmer Court apartments, located at 999 South Main Street.

Officers arrived and found Alires in critical condition. Officers performed medical aid and requested further assistance from the Salt Lake City Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance.

Alires died on scene.

At this point, there is no information to indicate the stabbing was random.

Photos of Jackman and Grant are being released.

No further information on this case is being released. Neither the PIO nor the On-Duty Watch Commander are available for interviews.
