SLCPD Investigating Suspicious Death

SALT LAKE CITY — Detectives with the Salt Lake City Police Department’s Homicide Squad are investigating the suspicious death of a man.

This investigation started at 9:39 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, when SLC911 received information about a body near 900 South 400 West.

Responding officers and Salt Lake City Fire Department paramedics located the man and confirmed he was deceased.

Due to the circumstances on scene, the on-duty watch commander requested detectives to respond.

SLCPD Homicide Detectives, Crime Lab Technicians, and the medical examiner’s office responded to document and collect evidence.

The SLCPD Homicide Squad will work with the medical examiner’s office to confirm the man’s name, age, cause of death and to notify next-of-kin.

SLCPD Homicide Detectives will respond to death investigations to determine if criminal liability exists for the death.

Based on the preliminary information, there is no imminent danger to the public.
