SLCPD Investigating Suspicious Death of Woman

SALT LAKE CITY — Detectives with the Salt Lake City Police Department’s Homicide Squad are investigating the suspicious death of a woman.

This investigation started at 11:03 a.m. on Friday, April 28, 2023, when SLC911 received information about an unresponsive woman inside a home near 100 South 800 West.

Responding officers and Salt Lake City Fire Department paramedics located the woman and confirmed she was deceased.

Due to the circumstances on scene, the on-duty watch commander requested detectives to respond.

SLCPD Homicide Detectives, Crime Lab Technicians, and the medical examiner’s office responded to document and collect evidence.

The SLCPD Homicide Squad will work with the medical examiner’s office to confirm the woman’s name, age, cause of death and to notify next-of-kin.

Based on the preliminary information, there is no known danger or risk to our community.
