SALT LAKE CITY — As part of a week-long class in auto-pedestrian collision investigation, the media is invited to observe what happens in a simulated crash environment.
Investigators seeking accident reconstructionist accreditation spend several hundred hours mastering relevant math and engineering concepts. During a demonstration from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, instructors will use crash test dummies to showcase pedestrian injuries and vehicle damages that occur in auto-pedestrian crashes.
Reporters are invited to attend. In addition to filming the demonstration and talking with subject matter experts, reporters will have the opportunity to use GoPro cameras or similar devices to capture unique perspectives during the simulation.
