SLCPD Arrest Two Women as Part of Burglary Investigation

SALT LAKE CITY — Detectives with the Salt Lake City Police Department have arrested two women involved in a theft of commercial-grade televisions.

This investigation started at 10:16 a.m. on January 10, 2022, when SLCPD patrol officers responded to a storage facility located in the area of 5200 West 1500 South to investigate a burglary.

Officers learned over 100 commercial-grade TVs were stolen with an approximate value of $250,000.

Detectives assigned to the SLCPD Property Crimes Unit developed information leading them to two women, Krystal Craig and Emelie Rook, both 36 years old, who were attempting to sell some of the stolen TVs.

Detectives transported Krystal and Emelie to the Salt Lake County Metro Jail and booked both suspects on charges of Theft by Deception and Theft by Receiving Stolen Property.

Although detectives have recovered some of the stolen TVs, most are still outstanding.

Based on the preliminary investigation, it is believed many of the TVs are being listed for sale online. These TVs are easily identified because they are labeled as “hospitality, commercial-grade.”

Anyone with information on this case should call 801-799-3000 and reference case number 22-5567.

Individuals who knowingly purchase or receive stolen property, can be arrested and charged with felony-related charges.

Charges are only allegations, and every arrested person is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

No other information about this incident can be released at this time.
