SLCPD Detectives Arrest Suspect for Obstruction Related to Leavitt Homicide

SALT LAKE CITY — Today, detectives with the Salt Lake City Police Department’s Homicide Squad arrested a 36-year-old woman for obstruction of justice in connection to the murder of Blaire Leavitt.

This investigation started at 7:41 a.m. on July 27, 2019, when Salt Lake City Police responded to a residence near 1200 North Redwood Road. Officers arrived and located Ms. Leavitt with a gunshot wound.

Paramedics immediately transported Ms. Leavitt to the hospital for emergency surgery but unfortunately, she died at the hospital.

During the investigation, homicide detectives learned Lachelle Fiefia was one of several people who were at Ms. Leavitt’s apartment on the night she was killed.

After Ms. Leavitt had been shot, Fiefia willingly drove two of the men involved in the homicide to Oakland, California, despite knowing they had been involved in Ms. Levitt’s murder, according to court documents.

On February 15, 2022, the SLCPD identified six suspects connected to the homicide of Blaire Leavitt and/or the obstruction of justice that resulted following her death.

Fiefia will be booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on one count of felony obstruction of justice.

No additional information on this case can be released at this time.

Charges are only allegations, and every arrested person is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Anyone with information about this case should contact 801-799-3000 and reference the “Blair Leavitt” homicide.
