SLCPD Seeking Tips After Several Cars Damaged in Ballpark Neighborhood 

SALT LAKE CITY — The Salt Lake City Police Department is asking for our community’s help identifying those responsible for vandalizing at least 10 cars in the Ballpark neighborhood.

This investigation started at 4:35 a.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, when SLCPD received an online report of a damaged car near 1450 South West Temple Street.

A community member also posted about the damage on Ring’s “Neighbors Public Safety Service” message board.

After receiving the information, officers identified at least 10 additional cars parked near 1450 South West Temple also damaged. Many of the cars had more than one window broken.

Based on available information at this time, the vandalism likely occurred overnight Monday into the early morning hours of Tuesday.

It appears, based on the damage, the suspect(s) used a pellet gun to shoot BBs through many of the windows.

The Salt Lake City Police Department is asking community members who live and work in the area to check their doorbell or security cameras to help identify those responsible for this vandalism, which is estimated to have caused more than $1,000 in damage.

Despite finding several cars with broken-out windows, many of the owners are still being identified.
